JK Math in 2025 (Update)
Jan 17, 2025Happy New Year!
I'm almost ready to return to regularly posting new tutorial videos to Youtube, but first, I wanted to let you know my overarching goal and rough plans for 2025.
In 2024 I uploaded a little over 40 videos, which was a huge decrease from the previous two years where I made over 100 in each year. This was mainly because of working on creating my first paid course called FM Easy for financial mathematics during the first 6 months of 2024, as well as making unit review videos and a final exam review video for FM, which took significantly more time to make than my usual tutorial videos. (By the way, if you plan on taking Exam FM in 2025, feel free to check out the course I mentioned!)
But now that those projects are complete, in 2025 the plan is to fully focus on videos for Youtube (and accompanying bonus videos on JK Math+), and increase the volume of new videos I upload. This means that working towards completing my Calculus 3 series will be my top priority, but it will not be all that I create!
As I continue to work through Calculus 3, the topics are naturally going to increase in complexity, and so some lessons will need more time than others to create. To compensate for this and to keep a consistent pace of new videos, I plan on beginning coverage of Algebra at the same time! Since algebra is a lower-level math course, the topics are much simpler, and therefore the videos will be shorter and easier to produce. I plan on posting algebra lessons and examples videos in-between new Calc 3 videos to fill in the gaps. You can get a sneak peak at the first lesson's thumbnail below!
I know there are a lot of requests to start other higher level math courses such as linear algebra and differential equations (and I will cover these one day!), but I can only handle covering one of those at a time, and right now that is Calc 3. Algebra is a much simpler course, so covering it will be manageable alongside Calc 3. I hope that makes sense! You can think of it like this: Calculus 3 is the primary course I will cover this year, while Algebra will be the secondary course I cover.
But that's not all! I am also working on another format of "videos" to continue to provide new help to those of you studying math courses I've already completed (Calc 1, Calc 2, and Financial Mathematics). I'm not quite ready to reveal the details on what exactly that is yet, but you will know what I'm talking about as soon as I announce it (assuming everything works out). I think you'll find it exciting!
That's all for this little update. Here's to a great 2025!
I hope you look forward to new tutorial videos for Calc 3 and Algebra!
Until next time,
-Josh
